On November 15th, 2023, Fondazione Ernesto Illy and illycaffè have been awarded by Seed for Progress at the Seed for Progress Gala helded in New York for their continual commitment and support in the opening of reception centers for minors from 2018 until nowadays.

Thanks to this project pickers employed in coffee plantations had the possibility to leave their children in a safe place during their working time; without the reception centers the most probable option would have been to take children with them or to leave them alone throughout the day.

The collaboration between Fondazione Ernesto Illy and Seeds for Progress Foundation has contributed over the years to social development promotion, sustainable economic growth and to several projects aimed at improving living conditions within rural communities of coffee growing regions in Central America.
